As the former DG of MINILS, me and the late Mr Olawale enjoyed a good and robust relationship. I can also recollect his passion , commiitment and contributions towards the growth of MINILS as a former memberof it's Governing Council.

Oga Tim, (as I fondly call you) the news of your death was too shocking to bear as I recall exchanging pleasantries with you at the Advanced IR course in Abeokuta, just a week to your demise. Your warmness, humility and genuine smile was still the same despite that I haven't seen you in years.
You left a great mark in Nigeria representing the employers at various fora, your indelible acts in promoting harmony in organizations will forever be cherished.
You were a great boss. You related with everyone equally even with the office cleaners.You were very humble. You smile with everyone and never look down on anyone.

What is this world all about? The shock of your sudden transition is still with me. I recall my last meeting with you that beautiful morning. I had wanted you to Chair the wedding reception of my daughter which was planned for Saturday September 25, 2021. Painfully, that weekend was also when you would be in Abeokuta for the annual NECA Retreat. Your words to me still echo in my entire system. "Mr Mokikan I'm happy you are a member of the NECA family. You will therefore understand why I will not be with you at the reception." You saw me off to the door. In spite of your absence, you still ensured that my family felt NECA's impact at the Engagement hosted by the NECA Event Hall. It was therefore with disbelief that I received the news of your transition. So very sad and painful.
We will miss your humility, your compassionate nature, your respect for all, commitment/dedication to your calling, your proactive tendencies, and your deep insight into micro and macro economic issues that impact businesses in Nigeria , I personally lost in you a very reliable and understanding friend. A very consumate.hardworking man. Very professional in his approach to issues,always ever ready to help at all times. His representation at the international level will surely be missed even by the nation. He always stood to see that the nation have the best in all negotiations. We at the Maritime- the stevedoring group will surely miss you,thank you for all that you have done for us conscientiously. We can only take solace that no man lives for ever but then this depature was too sudden very oainful to bear. Hmmmm. Hard to believe. Shocking. But when reminded that God giveth life and taketh life, I'm consoled. From the first day I met Dr Timothy before becoming DG up to his last day on earth, he maintained his consistent humility. He gradually became my family friend. Mentor to my son. An exemplary and exceptional persona. A man of strong and cordial character even though I did not personally know you but what your team mates say about you indicate to me that you were truly a leader. I wonder if you can be replaced in this world of ours. The Good Lord take your soul.

What a cloud on the 1st October 2021. This was a person we discussed in Abeokuta that was on 24th that he needed to rest because stress was written all over him and he agreed with me. I have a firm belief that this world is really transitory and if your day beacons you shall not spend one day more.

The first encounter was in unilag during my master's program then, he had the heart that cared completely. He had the smile that brought so much pleasure. He had the love that brought joy beyond measure.
